CRM Simplified: 13 CRM On-Demand and Cloud CRM Sites

Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is one of the most important system that most, if not all, companies need to manage interactions with clients and sales prospects. It touches almost every aspects of today’s businesses. Right from pre-sales enquiries and marketing to post-sales customer service and technical support.

Its importance to businesses are signficant. With CRM, businesses would be able to identify their target market, segment it, create a product or services that will be in demand, and market it to the right people at the right place and at the right time. And that’s only a fraction of what CRM is all about. It is a whole lot more than just that.

However, the biggest discouraging factor for business to implement CRM in their process is cost. It had always been expensive for small and medium businesses to invest on. That was then.

Today, the concept of Software as a Service (SaaS) has gained its popularity and more application companies are providing this service to compete in the market. With SaaS, businesses are now able to subscribe to CRM application at a small fee or even free. Subscriptions are based on the packages similar to that of a hosting or email packages.

Even for a freelancer having a CRM is important but everybody focuses on $40+ plans where I’m there just as a one-man army. While I do understand the development takes the same amount of effort, I’m constantly looking for something extremely cheap or free.

    So far, Outlook seems okay.

Oh, and also.. Highrise from 37signals has a good free alternative. It’s just the contact list which is very limited. (300, as if I would include my best friends)

I agree with you.. it is also useful for freelancers.

At the moment, I’m using Sugar CRM, which like you’ve said, Outlook itself would serve about the same purpose. Not all, but good enough. Sugar CRM, however, affects my server space though.

But hey, if anyone out there has more links, I am definitely interested to know.

I’m surprised you didn’t have Sugar CRM up there. Even as a 2 person shop, I can run this as localhost and successfully manage customers, projects and email campaigns. Best of all, it’s opensource. Best price for the tiny guy. I find the biggest issue with a CRM for the smallfry is to not get bogged down in the record keeping and get out there and sell, do the work, or all the other things that bring in the $.
